HOUSTON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (9-4) posted a 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-19) win over the University of St. Thomas-Houston (6-5) at the Jerabeck Center on Friday.
 
The Lady Rams hit a very efficient .423 in the first set, while only committing three attacking errors to start the match off strong. Wesleyan kept that pace going the entire match, hitting .225, tacking 33 kills on only 13 errors in the win.
 
Head coach Kimberly Weaver had this to say about the performance, "We had a strong showing tonight from everyone. It was a great bounce back game after tough losses to good Division II opponents. Shelby Stinnett was great offensively as well as defensively, very reminiscent of her freshman campaign. Starnisha Bodie and Kristina Gafford are connecting really well right now and that gives us a huge boost. We look forward to avenging an early season loss to Our Lady of the Lake tomorrow."
 
Abby Zipoy notched a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs in the win. Stinnett hit .409 with nine kills, nine digs, and three aces for the Rams. Gafford tallied 27 assists in the match.
 
The Lady Rams will head to San Antonio, TX for a meeting with Our Lady of the Lake tomorrow starting at 3:00 pm.
