ARLINGTON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (7-11) dropped a hard fought 90-81 game at NCCAA #2 Arlington Baptist College (13-4) at Woody Cash Court on Monday.

The Patriots work with a fast-paced, outside shooting offense and had no from behind the arc to start the game 6-3. Arlington Baptist capped a 7-0 run, quickly gain a 10-3 advantage just three minutes in.
Lasheena Trice hit a jumper to for the Lady Rams to cut the lead to 18-14 with two minutes left in the quarter. The Lady Rams ended the quarter with a 9-2 run to tilt the tide and post a 23-21 lead.

The Patriots came back in the second quarter with a 7-0 rally to snatch a 29-23 lead from Wesleyan.
Angela Nguyen slashed through the paint on a fast break to cut the score to 31-29 as the Rams ran the floor. Wesleyan could not keep their opponent off the free throw line, and could not figure out the defense. Arlington Baptist dribbled out to a 45-36 lead, but the Lady Rams kept shooting and ended the half, down 45-41.

Texas Wesleyan shot better than the Patriots from the field 50 percent to 42 percent, but could not get to the free throw the entire half. The Rams also shot better from downtown 39 percent to 29 percent.

Arlington Baptist kept the Lady Rams at bay to start the third quarter, but Wesleyan stayed close by.
Katelynn Threats cut the game to 56-54 on a layup with 4:50 remaining in the third quarter. Texas Wesleyan kept committing fouls and gave the Patriots a 66-58 lead. Threats took over the game for a spell though, and cut the deficit down to 66-64 with a 6-0 rally to end the third.

The Wesleyan defense had no answer for the Patriots though, taking 10-0 rally to start the final stanza. Texas Wesleyan then answered with a 7-0 run to make it an 80-76 game with four minutes left in the third. The very volatile second half finally ended with Arlington Baptist College up 90-81.

The Rams outshot their opponents from the field, but committed 17 turnovers and gave up 16 points from the charity stripe that made the difference in the ball game.

Threats finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Alycia Louallen posted 18 points and four assists.
Taylor Hooks had a career high 11 assists.
