FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (7-12, 2-7 SAC) ended up on the bitter end of a 63-49 game against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (12-8, 5-4 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center.

The Lady Rams did not start off on the right foot as the Lady Lions blasted out to a 9-0 lead to start the game. The rally ate up about five minutes of game time.
Alycia Louallen got the Rams out of the slow start with two three-pointers to make it an 11-6 game, but there was only one point made in the last 2:33 of the first quarter as SAGU held a 12-6 lead.

Texas Wesleyan fought back to start the second quarter with a 6-2 run capped by a
Katelynn Threats jumper to cut the lead to 16-15. The Lady Lions answered with a 15-0 run to post a 33-27 lead. Louallen hit a half court triple at the buzzer to make it a 37-24 game at the break.

The Lady Lions outshot the Rams 59 percent to 33 percent in the first half, while getting 11 more free throw shots resulting in four more points.

SAGU kept a better than 10-point lead on the home team for most of second half, although the Lady Rams made a few runs. TWU posted a 10-0 rally highlighted by a
Taylor Hooks fast break jumper in the paint to make it a 52-40 game before the end of the third frame.

Wesleyan continued that run into the fourth quarter with a
Falesha Fuller jumper for two to make it 52-42, but the Lady Lions kept the Rams at bay. Wesleyan could not make up any more ground, taking a 63-49 loss.

SAGU out-shot the Rams from the field 52 percent to 35 percent. The Lions posted a 38 26 advantage in the rebound column.

Louallen dropped 17 points in the game. Threats posted 15 points and eight boards for Texas Wesleyan.

The Lady Rams will travel to Oklahoma City, OK to play Mid-America Christian University on Saturday, January 30 starting at 3:00 pm.Â
