PLAINVIEW, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (5-4, 2-0 SAC) earned a Sooner Athletic Conference road win at Wayland Baptist University (2-5-2, 1-1 SAC) on Saturday.  The Rams took the contest by a final score of 3-2.
 
The first half was all Texas Wesleyan as the Lady Rams outshot the Pioneers 10-4 in the period.  The Rams put seven of those attempts on the frame and came away with a pair of goals.
 
Samantha Moore scored her 6th of the season off a feed from 
Theresa Garsztecki in the 40th minute.  
Drea Molina knocked in her team-leading 8th of the year just nine seconds before the intermission to make it 2-0.
 
Wayland got off the mat and played a much strong second half.  Virginia Norwood put Chelsea Beaubouef in a 1-on-1 situation with TXWES goalkeeper 
Nikki Lockwood 3:48 into the second half to cut the deficit to a single goal.
 
In the 54th minute Molina assisted a 
Taylor Ross insurance goal.  That proved to be the game-winner as the Pioneers were awarded a penalty kick in the 82nd minute and Zeltzin Gutierrez was good on the attempt.
 
For the game, the Rams outshot the Pioneers 13-10.  Wayland led 2-1 in corner kicks.  Lockwood (5-2) made seven saves to preserve the win, while Bailey Stengler (2-5-2) made fives stops in the loss.
 
The Rams will return to action on Tuesday, when they take on Mid-America Christian University.  That game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.
