FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University's 
George Battersby scored the game-winner in the 88th minute as the Rams men's soccer team (5-7, 2-1 SAC) came from behind to take a 2-1 win over Mid-America Christian University (2-8, 0-3 SAC) at Martin Field Tuesday night.
 
Both teams had chances early.  
Uriel Pacheco narrowly missed a goal in the 9th minute.  Just one minute later, MACU's Andy Ochoa scored off of a feed from Caleb Roland.
 
The game was very tight statistically.  MACU led 6-5 in shots in the first half, while Texas Wesleyan led 18-15 for the game.  Shots on goal finished 8-6 favoring the Rams, while corner kicks favored the Evangels 10-6.  Both teams were whistled for 11 infractions.
 
The Rams had a number of quality chances in the second half before 
Micah Day finally found the net.  In the 67th minute, Tony Falcon took a free kick from 40 yards out that found Day for the equalizer.
 
In the 88th minute, 
Alejandro Rey threaded the needle on a pass ahead to 
George Battersby who put the Rams on top with his first goal of the year.
 
Marko Jovanovic (5-6) made five saves in the win, while his counterpart, Jakob O'Meara-Gill finished with six saves.
 
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Bethany, OK, to take on Southwestern Christian University.  That game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
 
Ramblings
 
- Day's goal was his 9th of the season which is tops in the SAC.  The junior from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, currently ranks second in the SAC in points with 19.
 
- The Rams are now 3-1-1 all-time against MACU, while they improved to 16-13-2 in SAC play.  Southwestern Christian leads the all-time series with the Rams 3-2.
