FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (19-3, 6-3 SAC) picked up a win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (12-11, 4-5 SAC) in straight sets (25-20, 25-20, 25-15) at the Sid Richardson Center on Tuesday.

The Lady Lions led out with a 9-6 run, but the Lady Rams quickly shut that lead as a
Shelby Stinnett service ace tied the game at 9-9. The two teams went back and forth until a
Shaylee Griffin kill made it a 19-17 edge for Wesleyan. A rally of SAGU errors made it hard for the Lions to make a comeback, giving the Rams a 25-20 win.

Brianna Jaramillo went three for three to start the second set and keep the Lady Rams in the game. Her third kill tied the set at seven apiece. A 4-0 run capped by a
Brittni Mohle smash gave Texas Wesleyan a 12-10 edge. The set was tied 13 times before TXWES sprinted to the end on a 5-0 rally capped by a Stinnett kill to take a 25-20 win.

Texas Wesleyan dominated the third set from start to finish, taking a 12-3 run to an 18-7 advantage. Mohle doubled up on kills to extend the lead to 21-10. Stinnett and the Lady Rams finished off SAGU to take an easy, 25-15 win.

Mohle led the charge with 12 kills, hitting .423 in the win.
Sasha Robinson had an outstanding night hitting .625 behind five kills on eight attempts. She also tallied 31 assists, 10 digs, along with one ace and one block to boot. Stinnett knocked down eight kills, 12 digs, and three aces in the match.

The Lady Rams will head back to Oklahoma City for a match against Mid-America Christian University on October 8 starting at 1:00 pm.
