MIAMI GARDENS, FL: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (7-3) double dipped the state of Florida after a 64-59 win over Florida Memorial University (1-8) at the FMU Wellness Center on Tuesday.

The Lady Rams shot a balmy 56 percent from the field in the opening quarter, while holding the Lions to 4-14 shooting. Wesleyan continued that trend into the second quarter, holding Florida Memorial to just 10 points. The Rams took a 35-22 lead into halftime.

The Lions flipped the script to start the second half by shooting 47 percent from the floor and holding the Rams to 27 percent. FMU outscored Wesleyan 20-10 in the third quarter to cut the lead down to 45-42 heading into the last 10 minutes. The Lady Rams got back on track and outshot their opponent 19-17 to close the game out with a 64-59 win.

Katelynn Threats led the Lady Rams with a double-double performance posting 23 points and 14 boards.
Ashlie Bruner also had a double-double behind 14 points and 10 assists, adding six rebounds in the win.
Bailey Broadnax tacked on 11 points and nine boards.

The Lady Rams will observe the Christmas break and be back in action on December 31 when they travel to Wichita Falls, TX for a meeting with Midwestern State University starting at 2:00pm.
