FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball (8-16, 3-11 SAC) dropped a 70-52 home contest to Bacone College (9-14, 5-9 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Saturday.
Â
Although four Lady Rams scored in the double figures, the Warriors implemented a full court press that Wesleyan was unable to crack consistently enough to turn the tides of momentum their way.

Texas Wesleyan busted out of the gate to start the first quarter capped by a
Katelynn Threats put-back for an 8-0 lead.Â
Falesha Fuller stretched the advantage to 11 points with a swipe and break away lay-in to make it a 14-3 game with four minutes left in the first. The opening stanza could not have gone better to the Lady Rams, taking an 18-10 lead.
Â
The Warriors immediately deployed the full court press to start the second quarter, and it took no time to tie the game at 18 apiece. Fuller nailed a jumper in the paint to keep a 20-18 edge and the two teams stayed deadlocked through the rest of the first half.

Â
The Lady Rams did their best to beat the Warrior defense, but little by little the Rams tired out and that gave way to a 46-40 lead with 1:34 left in the third. Wesleyan battled back though, tying the game with a 6-0 rally heading into the final frame.
Â
Bacone opened the fourth with an 8-0 rally to take a 57-47 advantage with 6:34 left in the contest. The score quickly got lop-sided and even though Bacone had the game well in hand with a big lead, they continued to stay in a full court press. The game ended at 70-52 with the Rams taking the loss.
Â
Threats led the way with a 14 point, 10 rebound double-double. Cox also posted a double-double behind 10 points and 17 boards.
