The Eagles held off the Lady Rams despite some good second half shooting. Although TWU shot better than their opponent from the field in the second half, it wasn't enough come up with homecoming day win.

Southwestern Christian guard Maranda Janz hit on three shots from behind the arc to keep up with the good start posted by Wesleyan for a 9-9 tie. Katelynn Threats hit a fast break mid-range jumper to give the Rams a 12-9 lead with a minute left in the opening quarter. SCU cut the lead before the end of the first, making it a 12-11 game.

Alycia Louallen drained a triple to begin the second quarter that spurred a 5-0 rally and a 17-11 advantage with 8:00 minutes left. The Eagles answered with a 7-0 run to gain an 18-17 lead midway through, and kept the tempo up to break the game open. The Eagles outscored the home team 13-3 the rest of the way to put up a 30-21 lead into halftime.

Southwestern Christian kept hitting from all over the floor to start the third quarter, jumping out to a double-digit lead mid-way through. Falesha Fuller and Taylor Hooks ran the floor to end the third with consecutive layups to cut the lead to 46-38.

Texas Wesleyan continued that run into the final frame, capped by a Courtney Chargois jumper from the elbow that cut a 14-point deficit into a four-point game at 46-42. The Eagles managed to hold off the charging Rams though, and killed enough clock to steal away from Sid Richardson Gym with a 62-52 win.
