Rams Win in Extras at East Central

ADA, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (13-12) survived a 9th inning scare and came through with a 5-4 win in 10-innings at East Central University (5-17) on Wednesday.

The Rams took a 4-3 lead into the ninth, but with two outs, things threatened to get away.  An error allowed the game to continue, and the Tigers scored the tying run on a hit batter with the bases loaded.  Wade Regas regrouped and got out of the inning with the game still tied.

In the 10th, Alex Gudac led off and ripped a shot into right-center.  Gudac flew all the way around third base and scored on an error by the pitcher.  Regas came back out for a third inning of work in the bottom of the inning and worked around a 1-out single to finish off the win.

The Rams had scored two runs in the third inning with a single from Blake Seaton, a double from James Ziegler, a wild pitch, and a sac fly from Gudac.  However, the Tigers came back to put three on the board in the 5th inning with a 2-run triple from Kodiak O'Ravez followed by an RBI double from Jake McKeel.

In the 7th, Jonathan Bravo touched off a 2-run home run to put the Rams ahead 4-3.

Regas (2-3) allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out three in three innings of work.  Casey Kenney (0-1) took the loss after allowing a run on one hit in two innings pitched.

The Rams outhit the Tigers 11-8 in the game.  Ryan Adam set the table with a 3-for-5 day at the top of the order.  Ziegler and Bravo were both 2-for-5 at the plate.

The Rams will return to action Friday and Saturday when they host the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma in a 3-game Sooner Athletic Conference series.  All three games will be played at Sycamore Park in Fort Worth.  Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start with Saturday's finale scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch.
