Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Second Half Sinks Rams, 6-1

HOUSTON, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (1-4) suffered a 6-1 loss at the University of St. Thomas-Houston (4-2) on Monday.

The Rams kept things close in the first half.  After an early UST goal, Micah Day found the net for the third time this season to tie the game in the 23rd minute.  UST's Leo Artiga scored just 26 seconds later though, and the Celts led 2-1 at the intermission.

Things got away from the Rams in the second half as the Celts outshot the Rams 16-2 and ripped off four more unanswered tallies.

Freshman goalkeeper Ivan Reyes (0-1) posted eight saves for a second consecutive game, but a 31-4 shot count was too much to overcome.

The Rams will return to Martin Field on Friday, when they host Jarvis Christian College.  That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
