Lady Rams Blast Bulldogs, 7-0

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (2-4) took a convincing 7-0 win over Jarvis Christian College (0-5) at Martin Field on Friday.

The Lady Rams dominated the contest from start to finish, but only scored one of 17 shot attempts in the first half.  Theresa Garsztecki scored on an assist from Drea Molina just 3:54 into the contest.

That 1-0 advantage quickly swelled in the second half.  Kailene Allis scored in the 51st minute with an assist to Samantha Moore.  Moore hit the back of the net in the 60th minute.  Taylor Ross made it 4-0 with a goal in the 66th minute, and just 44 seconds later, Molina scored the first of her three consecutive goals.

Molina scored again in the 78th minute and complete her hat trick with 22 seconds remaining in the game.

"It was good to get a win and get back on track," commented head coach Josh Gibbs.  "Slow start in the first half, but we really got going as the game went along.  It's always good to have a clean sheet.  I'm very proud of the players tonight.  This was a great step in the right direction."

The Rams did not allow the Bulldogs a shot in the first half and led 42-3 in shots for the game.  Corner kicks were also lopsided at 14-1 favoring the Rams.

The Rams will return to action on Monday, when they host Paul Quinn College.  That game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.
