SHAWNEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (3-8-1, 1-4-1 SAC) took a thrilling 1-0 win in overtime at St. Gregory's University (2-8-2, 0-5 SAC) on Saturday.
After playing to a scoreless draw in regulation, Texas Wesleyan's Anthony Atilola delivered the game-winner 5:12 into the first overtime period.
For Atilola, a sophomore from London, England, it was his fifth goal of the season and the second game-winner of his Texas Wesleyan career.
The Rams outshot the Cavaliers 20-10 in regulation, but SGU's Declan Simpson made 13 saves to stave off the TXWES attack.
Bastian Blumenberg made six saves (all in regulation) to secure his second collegiate shutout.
The Rams will return home on Tuesday when they host Southwestern Assemblies of God University in SAC action. That game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Martin Field.
