Rams Fall at OCU

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team (2-6-1, 0-2-1 SAC) suffered a 4-0 loss at Oklahoma City University (8-2, 1-1 SAC) on Tuesday.

The scoring got started in the 22nd minute when a ball glanced off a Texas Wesleyan defender for an own goal.  OCU's James Beattie scored just before halftime to make it 2-0 at the break.

Goals from Fabian Henningsen (52nd minute) and Jeffrey Matthews (78th minute) accounted for the 4-0 final score.

The Stars outshot the Rams 18-8 in the contest and led 9-3 in corner kicks.  Fouls were nearly even with the Stars being whistled for eight infractions to the Rams' seven.

Bastian Blumenberg made a pair of saves in the loss, while Vladimir Kalajdzic did the same to preserve the shutout.

The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they host Southwestern Christian University.  That game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Martin Field.

Ramblings

- The Rams are now 17-18-5 all-time in SAC play, while OCU leads the all-time series 13-4-2.

- Southwestern Christian leads the all-time series with the Rams 4-2 after taking each of the last three meetings.
