Mustangs Drop Lady Rams; Fuller Has Career Night

Box Score WICHITA FALLS, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (1-3) dropped a 69-59 tilt to NCAA DII Midwestern State University (2-1) on Wednesday.
 
Falesha Fuller was outstanding for the Lady Rams, posting career highs in points and rebounds. MSU had no answer for junior from Garland, TX as she dropped in 24 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 47 percent from the floor. It was also the third double-double of her career.

The Lady Rams led late in the third quarter, but the Mustangs went on a 16-5 run that spanned over four minutes to secure a lead Texas Wesleyan could never recover from. Evie Whorley converted a jumper in the paint to put the Lady Rams up 42-41 after erasing a 10-point deficit. The Mustangs went on an 11-5 run to end the third quarter and started the fourth quarter with a 5-0 rally to take back the lead.
 
MSU edged out the Lady Rams from the field, 31-30 percent, but the Mustangs got to the free throw line 17 more times which translated into nine more points in the win.  
 
Nicole Gleason added 10 points and six boards for TXWES. Lorian Benjamin contributed seven rebounds, five assists, four points, and two steals in an under-the-radar type of night.
 
The Texas Wesleyan will finally make their 2017 home debut on Monday, November 20. The Lady Rams host Texas College in a Red River throwback game at 6:00 p.m. in Sid Richardson Center.
