FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (18-12) dropped a hard fought, 75-68 battle with Mid-America Christian University (20-10) in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal at the Gaulke Activity Center on Tuesday.

The Lady Rams led for nearly 26 minutes, but the Evangels overcame a 12-point deficit and scored double their total from the first half. The MACU bench had lot to do with that, pouring in 33-points.

Alycia Louallen started the game on fire, knocking down her first four shots from behind the arc, her last one capping a 12-5 run for a 17-7 Lady Ram lead.

Texas Wesleyan limited MACU to just eight points in the second, and went into the break on a 7-2 run for a 36-25 advantage.

Mid-America Christian used an 11-4 run in the third quarter to tie the ball game, 49-49.

Lorian Benjamin gave Texas Wesleyan a 52-49 lead to start the fourth quarter, but the Evangels were able to gain a narrow margin. MACU led by five before
Ashlie Bruner hit a three-pointer and
Bailey Broadnax followed with a jumper in the paint to tie the game at 60-60.

The Evangels took over and outscored the Lady Rams 15-8 over the last four minutes of regulation to secure the win.

Ashlie Bruner notched a double-double behind 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Bailey Broadnax tallied 17 points and eight boards. Louallen grabbed 14 points in the contest.
Katelynn Threats added 12 points in the final game of the season.

Threats finishes her outstanding career with 1,387 points, making her fourth all-time in program history.
