FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (14-11, 2-4 SAC) dropped a conference doubleheader to No. 1 Oklahoma City University (28-0, 8-0 SAC) at Sycamore Park on Tuesday.

The top ranked Stars found an early edge with a first inning after a lead-off walk led to a Jaci Smith RBI triple off the right field fence for a one run lead.

Smith hit a home run over the left-center fence to start a five run rally third and added three more in the fourth for a 9-0 advantage.

The Lady Rams were held to two hits.
Lauren Gunter doubled to right center in the second and
Dani Jackson hit a bunt single in the third inning to put runners on the corners, but could not get a run home in the 9-0 loss.

Brittany Rosenberry (4-3) picked up the loss, but was only responsible for just two of nine OCU runs.

In game two, the undefeated Stars put up 6 runs before the Lady Rams stopped a four game shutout streak in the fourth. Jackson led the inning with a triple to left center before Gunter got the run home on a fielder's choice bunt.
Samantha Vasquez doubled to deep center to get two more runs home to cut the lead in half.

Gunter smashed a RBI double to center in the sixth, but the Stars took the 8-4 win.

Gunter and Vasquez knocked in two runs each for the Lady Rams.

Texas Wesleyan will take the short drive to Waxahachie, TX for a double header with Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Monday, March 20 starting at 2:00 p.m.
