Rams Cruise over Crusaders, 12-2

FORT WORTH, TX:  The 15th ranked Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (21-7) stayed hot with a 12-2 win over Dallas Christian College at Sycamore Park on Wednesday.
 
The Rams, who have been on an offensive tear, pounded out 17 hits to score 12 runs.  The game started with five consecutive hits.  Casey Moses, Caden Williams, Luis Roman, and Aidan Laurini all singled.  Blake Seaton followed with a triple and later scored to make it 5-1 Rams.
 
The Crusaders tallied one run in each of the first two innings.
 
A two-run single from Moses made it 7-1 in the third inning.  The Rams scored three more, including a two-RBI single from Garrett Crook, in the fourth.  An RBI double from Kiki Menendez and an RBI single from Tanner McMahon in the eighth capped the scoring at 12-2.
 
Six Texas Wesleyan pitchers combined to hold the Crusaders to just two runs.  Evan Rogers (5-2) earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief work.  He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out one.  Alex Davis, Chris Terry, Dusty Cloud, and Stephen Frederick allowed just one base runner over the final 4.1 innings.
 
Moses went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI.  Menendez and Crook were both 3-for-4 on the day.  Williams, Roman, and Seaton all had multi-hit games as well.
 
The Rams are back in action this weekend with a non-conference series against Arlington Baptist College.  Friday's opener is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.  Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 12:00 p.m.  All three games will be played at Sycamore Park.
 
Ramblings
 
- The Rams are now 16-4 all-time against Dallas Christian.  They lead the all-time series with Arlington Baptist 2-1.
 
- The Rams have won eight games in a row.  During that span, they are batting .379 with 9 home runs and 71 RBI's as a team, while outscoring their opponents 86-16.
 
- Julio Ibarra had his hitting streak snapped at 12 games, leaving Caden Williams' 8-game streak as the longest active streak on the team.
