Rams Tame Tigers, 2-1

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (2-3) netted a pair of second half goals to top Paul Quinn College (1-3) 2-1 at Martin Field Thursday night.

The Rams outshot the Tigers 12-4 in the first half, but it was the Tigers who led 1-0 at the break on the strength of a 44th minute goal by Emilio Rivera.

The Tiger lead held until the 61st minute when Anthony Atilola struck a free kick from the right side of the box and Ross McArthur finished with a header.

The Rams had a number of good looks from that point including a strike from Atilola from the top of the box that smashed off the crossbar in the 66th minute.
In the 78th minute, the Rams sent the ball rattling around inside the box and Uriel Pacheco put himself in the right spot to knock home the game-winning goal.

Paul Quinn did not go quietly in the final minutes.  In the 80th minute, Henry Estrada hit the crossbar, and in the 87th minute Jaime Gallegos had a clear look at the net from close range, but Bastian Blumenberg made a beautiful diving save.
