FORT WORTH, TX:
Cole Sweetser's first win as a collegiate head coach came in decisive fashion as his Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (1-2) blasted Jarvis Christian College (0-1) 14-0 at Martin Field on Friday.
Sweetser, who was named the Rams' head coach, on August 2, is in his first stint as a collegiate head coach after serving as an assistant coach on staffs at Texas Wesleyan, Fort Lewis College and Colorado Mesa University.
The Rams had not put up a double-figure score since a 16-0 win over Southwestern Adventist in the 2009 season.
Micah Day, a senior from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, sparked the offense, recording his first career hat trick in less than 10 minutes. Day scored at 3:29, 5:12, and 9:38, and the route was on.

Zion Balogun, and
Juan Rey added goals to push the advantage to 7-0 at halftime.
After,
Luis Pumarejo started the second half with a goal in the 52nd minute, Day knocked in his fourth goal of the game less than a minute later. Atilola, a sophomore from London, England, got back in on the action with goals in the 57th and 73rd minutes to complete his first career hat-trick.

The Rams will return to action on Thursday, when they host the University of Houston-Victoria. That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.

- The school record for margin of victory came in a 23-0 shellacking against Dallas Christian College in 2003. That game marked an NAIA record for margin of victory at the time.
- The Rams lead the all-time series with Jarvis Christian 2-0. The all-time series with Houston-Victoria is tied 1-1.
