Rams Club Warriors, 5-0 in SAC Opener

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team (7-1, 1-0 SAC) rolled to a 5-0 win over Bacone College (2-7, 0-1 SAC) in their Sooner Athletic Conference opener at Martin Field on Thursday.

Tameir Grosvenor wasted little time getting on the scoreboard when she bicycle kicked a bounding ball into the back of the net just 9:35 into the game.  Cheyanne Moore made it 2-0 off of a Grosvenor corner kick in the 16th minute.

Ten minutes later, Samantha Moore received a goal kick near midfield and netted her first of two goals on the day from 23 yards out.  Taylor Ross scored an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute, and the Lady Rams led 4-0 at the break.

Moore collected a rebound at the top of the box and capped the scoring with a strike in the 71st minute.

The Rams dominated the ball throughout the contest, outshooting the Warriors 30-3 on the day.

Christy Zwart (5-0) made three saves to complete her third shutout of the season.  Bacone's Daphne Harvey made eight saves in the loss.

The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday, when they square off with No. 23 John Brown University at Martin Field.  That game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
