Volleyball coasts past USAO

FORT WORTH - Texas Wesleyan Volleyball (21-9, 16-3 SAC) coasted in a straight-sets victory - 25-13, 25-8, 25-10 - over University of Science and Arts-Oklahoma (7-25, 3-16 SAC) Friday night at the Sid Richardson Center.

Chastiny Brown dominated, gathering 10 kills on 13 attacks, hitting .692. Sasha Robinson led the assists category with 16 while Brianna Sitton chipped in 14 digs. Sarah Benitez got her second career kill to end the match, while Robinson and Sitton turned in six (three each) of the team's 11 service aces. Brown also had four blocks.

Texas Wesleyan hit .481 in Set 2 on 15 kills to just two attacking errors. USAO managed to put consecutive points together five times, only once after Set 1.

The Lady Rams longest run was seven-straight points in Set 2, when they turned a 2-2 tie into a 9-2 rout. Robinson, Brown and Brenda Pargas had kills during that stretch, while Sitton added one of her aces.

RECORD WATCH
After Friday night's game, Sasha Robinson needs just seven more assists to reach the 2,000 assists milestone. She'll likely do that Saturday - Senior Day - cementing her dominance over the last three seasons.

SAC DOMINANCE
Texas Wesleyan has now won 84.2% of its conference games, the highest in-conference winning percentage this decade in Head Coach Jessica Ransom's first season. The Lady Rams have increased their conference win percentage each of the last four years.

WHAT'S NEXT
The regular season comes to a close Saturday at 1 p.m. against MACU. Texas Wesleyan is currently slotted as the No. 3 seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference, which matches them up with Wayland Baptist in the first round of the SAC Tournament, which will be played at the Sid Richardson Center Tuesday November 6. Wayland Baptist is locked in as the No. 6 seed by virtue of their head-to-head sweep of MACU.

The No. 2, 26-3 SAGU Lions play USAO tomorrow, which all but cements the Rams as the No. 3 seed entering the tournament.
