GOODWELL, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (22-10, 8-2 SAC) notched a pair of conference wins over Oklahoma Panhandle State University (12-23, 5-13 SAC) at Aggie Softball Field on Wednesday.

Game one turned into a slugfest, with the Lady Rams outhitting the Aggies 19-14 in a high scoring contest.  took an early lead in the second inning, after a Haleigh Scott found the gap in right-center for a triple that set up a Jena Konieczka.

Texas Wesleyan answered with a three-run third. The top of the lineup made the necessary adjustments in the second time through. Taylor Sutton posted a two-run hot shot through the right side to take the lead. Ashton Davis wore a pitch with the bases loaded to bring the score to 3-1.

The Lady Rams executed successful small ball in the fourth inning. Tobi Bonifacio led off the inning with a double to left-center before Dotson sacrificed herself to get the runner to third. Prachyl laid into one for a RBI single up the middle to make it a 4-1 game.

Panhandle State cut the lead to one with a two run, four hit, fourth inning. Lindsey Jacobs and Brissa Rivera each had RBI singles to make it a 4-3 TXWES lead.

Hailey Hollingsworth added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth after a double to right-center plated Laruen Wernet and Corrina Palomino to extend the lead to 6-3, but OPSU came charging back.

The Aggies added two runs in the fourth before taking a four-run rally in the fifth for a 7-6 lead. Konieczka, Rivera, and Jacobs connected again, this time with a three-punch flurry that capped the five-hit inning.

Both teams scored in the final two innings, but it was the Lady Rams who outpaced their opponents 7-2. The Aggies tied the game in the sixth, but TXWES rattled off a five run seventh. Terry plated two, taking a liner to the opposite field, clearing the bases with a triple to right. Sutton scored the run with a single into center field, before Wernet smashed a RBI double to right to cap the drive.

Makenna Aycock (7-3) earned the win in two inning of relief work. She allowed two runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out one.

Game two was not a closely contested affair as the Lady Rams flexed their bats. TXWES put up crooked numbers in the first, second and third innings to grab a commanding 7-0 lead.

In the first inning, Prachyl worked a walk, stole second, and then scored on an errant throw to sneak a run on the board. Bailey Terry drove in a run on a double to left before Sutton capped the drive with a RBI single.

Wernet and Saeya Esparza added two more scores in the third. TXWES came back in the fourth for another pair or runs after Sutton smacked a RBI double to right-center in the fourth before Wernet added one on an infield single.

The Lady Rams found a run in the eighth to take an 8-0 advantage, threatening to take the game in run-rule fashion. Dotson hit a two out single to third base and swiped second before Prachyl brought her home.

The Aggies worked two walks in the bottom of the fifth inning, trying to keep the game from ending early. Sidney Stewart (6-2) squashed any hopes of extending the game though, getting two pop outs to seal the win.

Stewart pitched a shutout, limiting the Aggies to just three hits, issued four walks, and had no strikeouts.

Sutton was an absolute force, going 6 for 6 with six RBI in the double header. Terry went 3 for 7 with four runs batted in.
