Lady Rams advance to semifinal with 3-0 win over Eagles

TXWES will take on JBU on Fri. Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. in Oklahoma City

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (23-7) advanced to the semifinal match of the 2019 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-16) win over Southwestern Christian University (14-15) on Tuesday.
 
The Lady Rams will take on John Brown (26-7) in the semifinal match on Friday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of Oklahoma City University. The Golden Eagles disposed of Wayland Baptist, 3-0 tonight.
 
The Lady Rams kept the win streak against the Eagles alive, and have now won 17 consecutive matches versus SCU all-time.
 
The Rams eclipsed 1000 program wins after a straight set win in the regular season finale at Science & Arts, and today was no different in win number 1001.
 
The win streak is now seven, as the team has hit its stride heading into the post-season. What is more impressive is the boastful 12-1 record the team has displayed at home.
 
The team hit .374 tonight in another dominating win. The Lady Rams out-blocked the Eagles 9-0 and owned the net in kills, 52-23.
 
SAC Attacker of the week Arianna Alvarado added 17 kills to her ledger, leading all players. Chastiny Brown went 9-0-17 on the attack, hitting .529, while Sydney Charlton posted similar numbers, 8-0-15 for a .533 hitting percentage. Veronika Webb was also very efficient, posting an 11-0-21 clip, good for .524.
 
Brenda Pargas posted 30 assists, while Madison Lopez notched 19 digs in the win. Morgan Burns added 18 assists. McKayla Flowers got in on six blocks, while Webb contributed five blocks in the match.
