FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan baseball team (38-12, 17-7 SAC) disposed of Mid-America Christian University (17-22, 11-12 SAC) in a 10-0 run-rule at Sycamore Park on Monday.
Coming into the game, the Rams needed just two strikeouts to break the programs single season team strikeout record.
Josh Brown struck out Evangel catcher Oliver Fernandez in the seventh to claim the record for the 2019 squad. The record now sits at 422. The previous record was held by the 2013 Rams.
Nolan Barbee led the team with 76 K's.
This season,
Houston Glad leads the team with 83 strikeouts, while
Cameron Vige has 79.
Parker Robinson adds 65 and
Jesse Ramirez has 56 K's in just 35 innings pitched.
The Rams took the lead in the second, after Robinson started on the mound and batted in the eighth spot. Robinson drove a ball into centerfield for a RBI single.
Texas Wesleyan added a five spot in the third inning, batting around in the process.

Michael Davila,
Sheadion Jamanika and
Josh Davis all drove in at least one run as the Rams were content working station to station.
Caden Williams tallied the only extra base hit in the inning, a double off the right field wall.
The game came to a complete scoring halt, as neither team could make any noise offensively. The Rams pitching staff shut down the Evangels at the plate and MACU's Pedro Reyes subdued the Rams bats until the eighth inning.
An error early in the inning gave the Rams to build some momentum in the late goings, as Williams,
Jeddediah Fagg and
Brooks Wallace drove in enough to put the run-rule in effect and collect the win.
Jamanika and Davis led the way, each going 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI.
Brown (5-1) got the win. He threw three scoreless innings, allowing three hits, one walk, while fanning two. Robinson, who was the starter, threw four scoreless innings, scattering four hits.
The Rams will stay home for a SAC matchup with SAGU on Friday, April 26. The team finishes up the regular season on the road against the Lions in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27 starting at 1 p.m.
