ARDMORE, Okla – The Texas Wesleyan women's golf team placed second, while sophomore Piper Frisbee (88-77-74-239) notched her first collegiate win at the Dornick Hills Invitational on Tuesday.
Frisbie becomes the fifth different Ram to win a tournament, and the program now boasts 13 individual wins. The program has won an even ten tournaments, now entering its ninth season of competition.
Frisbie recovered from a modest first round, improving in the second and third rounds, finishing the tournament with a 4-over 74 for the win. The 74 was good enough for low round of the tournament. The Flower Mound, Texas product led all players with 29 pars alongside teammate
Brooke Sullivan, winning the tournament with just four birdies.
Emily Hunt (83-83-78-244) finished fifth, leading all golfers in par 3 scoring at 3-over.
Annaka Watts (7th) and Kate Adelmann (T-8th) led the team in birdies with five each, while
Brooke Sullivan finished in a share of 11th.
Next week, the team will play 36 holes at Lincoln Park West in OCU's Sydney Cox Invitational. The two-day tournament is set to start on Monday, October 5 in Oklahoma City.
