The Texas Wesleyan Women's Basketball team opened up conference play with a 95-58 victory over SAGU on Thursday night at the Sid Richardson Center.
Once again, the Lady Rams kept control from tip to final buzzer in a comfortable win to start SAC play. A 13-2 run capped by a pair of
Makayla Coy free throws. The Lions were in foul trouble early and often, leading to a 29 of 38 (76%) from the free throw line kind of night.Â
The Lady Rams played stifling defense as they forced the Lady Lions into 21 turnovers. The Lady Rams took control in the second quarter as they outscored the Lady Lions 26 to 10.
Junior Kertisha Amos scored 19 points on five of ten shooting from the field (50 percent.) She also shot 9 of 12 from the free-throw line. Graduate Student
Evie Whorley scored 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting from the field.

Makayla Coy both scored 12 points on the night. The Lady Rams out rebounded the Lions 37 to 30.
TXWES scored 32 points off the bench and SAGUÂ had 21 bench points. The Lady Rams dominated the post, scoring 36 points in the paint.Â
The Lady Rams move to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play. The Lady Lions move to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Lady Rams will host UNT-Dallas at the Sid Richardson Center on Sunday, Nov. 21.
