The Texas Wesleyan University men's basketball team (10-3) used a 55-point first half to cruise past North American University (3-15) in the Dallas Christian College Christmas Classic on Wednesday, in the first ever meeting between the two teams.

It was all TXWES from the get-go, with the Rams starting the contest with a 13-0 run. The Mustangs finally scored three and a half minutes into the game, and even cut the lead to six with just over five minutes left in the first half. The Rams rallied again to end the half, rattling off a 15-1 run in the final three minutes to head into the break up by a 22-point margin. Â

The Rams continued to dominate in the second half, nursing the +20-point lead to collect the tenth win of the season. TXWES outscored the Mustangs 52-26 in the paint and was +22 in rebounding.

Kristian Lafayette shot 50-percent (7-14) from the field and picked up his fourth double-double of the season behind 15 points and 12 rebounds. Over the last six games, the junior forward is averaging 13.3 boards per game. The team is 6-1 when Lafayette hits double digits in rebounding.

Davon Berry tacked on a double-double as well, his first of the season, on 12 points and 11 boards. The senior guard was 6 of 9 from the floor. In his last five games, Berry is averaging 14.8 points per game for the Rams.

Peyton Sallee and
Vydal Bradford also hit double-digit points in the win, posting 14 and 12 respectively. Bradford also added nine rebounds in the contest.

The Rams get back to conference play taking on Langston University in the friendly confines of the Sid Richardson Center on New Year's Day. Tip-off is set for 3:45 p.m. At 3-2 in SAC play, the Rams are tied for fifth in the 12-team conference.
