FORT WORTH -- The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball team (8-1, 3-1 SAC) claimed a dominant, 91-69 victory over Southwestern Christian (5-4,1-3 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Saturday afternoon.
TXWES dominated this game from the start as they outscored SCU 26 to 11 in the first quarter. The Lady Eagles picked up the pace of play in the second quarter as they outscored the Lady Rams 28 to 19. The Lady Rams took a 45-39 lead into halftime after a scorching second quarter from SCU.
TXWES dominated the third quarter as they outscored SCU 24 to 9 on 7 of 13 shooting from the field (53 percent.) Junior
Kertisa Amos scored 12 points in the third quarter as the Lady Rams pulled away from the Lady Eagles. TXWES used a strong fourth quarter, outscoring SCU 22-16 to win the game by 22 points.
TXWES shot 33 of 68 from the field (48 percent,) and shot 4 of 13 from the three-point line (30 percent.) The Lady Rams bench outscored the Lady Eagles bench 29 to 15. TXWES also dominated the block as they scored 15 second-chance points.

Kertisa Amos scored a career-high, 33 points on 11 of 23 shooting (47 percent.) Freshman
Zarria Carter almost notched a double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds.Â
The Lady Rams will take on Our Lady Of The Lake University on Wednesday, Dec. 8. at the Sid Richardson Center with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
