WAXAHACHIE, Texas — A third quarter rally by the Rams fell short as the Texas Wesleyan Women's basketball team lost 77-71 at Southwestern Assemblies of God on Tuesday.

The Lady Rams trailed by as much as 10 in the first half, but out of the break they exploded for a 14-2 run to grab their first lead and outscored SAGU 25-16 in the 3
rd period.

However, SAGU turned on their deep shooting in the 4
th, draining a game high 5 treys and outscoring TXWES 23-15 for the win.

Makayla Coy netted a career high 28 points plus 12 rebounds, her fifth double-double in a row.
Alexus Brigham contributed 17 points.
Hailee Walls put up 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals.

SAGU's Kiara Glenn and Lauren Chestang each had a team-high 17 points.

TXWES finished shooting 28-65 on the floor, 4-16 deep and 11-14 at the line.

SAGU shot 27-60 from the field, 11-26 beyond the arc and 12-19 at the stripe.

The Lady Rams are 1-9 overall and 1-8 in the league. SAGU is 2-8 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
