FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Baseball team fell in a pair of games to close out their series 3-1 with Bellevue on Monday at Sycamore Park.

On Sunday, TXWES split the first doubleheader, then the next day fell 3-2 and 8-5 in the games three and four.

In the third game of the series, the scoring started in the third inning with a BU RBI single. The Rams tied it in the bottom as Greyson Barrett singled then a wild throw allowed him to advance and Jose Sosa to score on the error.

The Bruins extended their lead to 3-1 by the sixth until Kevin Santiago singled to right field, scoring Nelson Vera and nearly Kaden Brown as he was thrown out on a bang-bang play at the plate.

The Rams went down in order in the 7th, bringing the win to Graham Cahill who pitched a complete 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs and striking out 5.

Starter Marcos Sanchez (1-1) was charged with the loss.

The series' final contest had the game tied at 1-1 entering the third where the Rams had a big 4-run inning. Sosa RBI doubled, Sanchez RBI singled, and with runners on the corners, Matt Espinoza laid down a sac-bunt to score Sosa and almost beat the throw on first himself.

TXWES rounded out the rally scoring on an error making it a 5-1 ballgame.

But late rallies saw the Bruins take the game back. They scored two runs, one off a solo homer, to tie at 5 apiece then gained the lead in the 7th plating two on a double then scoring on an error.

TXWES got runners on base in the bottom but could not pick them up leaving three on at game's end as the Bruins won to close out the series and move to 6-2 overall.
