Women’s Soccer opens season with win over USAO

FORT WORTH, Texas — Senior Tameir Grosvenor scored two goals in the Texas Wesleyan Women's Soccer teams 2-1 season opening win over Science and Arts Oklahoma on Tuesday evening.
 
Grosvenor extends the school's record for most career goals making it 78 for the senior from DeSoto, Texas.
 
The game was also the Sooner Athletic Conference opener as the Lady Rams are now 1-0 overall and in the league, while USAO is 5-2 and 0-1 in the conference.
 
TXWES struck early, as Grosvenor scored the first goal just five minutes into the game. USAO would tie the game 7 minutes before the half.
 
14 minutes into the second half, the Rams netted another goal by Grosvenor for the 2-1 lead and held the score there until the final whistle.
 
The Drovers attempted 31 shots, 12 of which were on target, and keeper Julia Villalobos had 11 saves. TXWES shot 8 times, 6 on target.

The Lady Rams remain at home for their next contest with Mid-America Christian on Feb. 27 at Martin Field.
