PLAINVIEW, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Women's Basketball team fell 95-46 to No. 2 Wayland Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
Makayla Coy recorded her fourth double-double in a row with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She went a perfect 8-for-8 at the line. Janeé Knorr and
Evie Whorley contributed 9 points apiece. Knorr added 2 blocks and Whorley 4 assists.
The Rams were outscored in each period except the second where they put up 21 points to the Flying Queens' 19.
TXWES finished shooting 17-for-65 from the field, making 2-for-14 from the arc and 10-for-12 at the line. WBU shot 38-for-79 on the floor, 13-for-33 from deep and 6-for-6 at the stripe.
The Queens were led by Tay McGhee-Pleasant with 20 points.
The loss drops the Rams to 1-8 overall and 1-7 in the league. WBU improves to 10-0 and 8-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
TXWES finishes their 3-game road trip at Southwestern Assemblies of God at 6 pm on Feb. 6.
