MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Texas Wesleyan softball team combined for 25 hits in their doubleheader sweep at Central Christian College Kansas on Wednesday.

The Lady Rams took game one 13-8 and the second 4-2.

In the first game, TXWES out hit the Tigers 19 to 5 with all but one player in the lineup recorded multiple hits.
Kylie Summers and
Ashton Davis each had 3 RBI in a game where TXWES scored in each inning.
Â
Brynna Foster batted 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and got the win in the circle pitching 4.1 innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs.
Â
Taylor Tubbs also hit 3 for 5 with two doubles and would make it three in the second game.
Kimani Ferguson stole two bases.

The second game proved to be a lower scoring defensive battle. The Lady Rams played from behind for most of the game after CCCK took an early 2-run lead in the first inning.

TXWES would not score until the top of the seventh. Davis and
Mercedes Beltran started the frame with back-to-back hits. Davis would score the first run on an error off a missed catch from the first baseman.

Saeya Esparza would tie the game by scoring Beltran on a SAC fly to center. Then the Lady Rams took the lead as
Cailee Hendrick reached home on a misplayed grounder at second base. Ferguson crossed the plate for the fourth run of the inning brought in by a Summers' single.

Tubbs made quick work of the Tigers, setting them down in order for the complete game win where she allowed only 1 earned run and five hits while striking out six batters.

The Lady Rams are now 5-5 overall and 4-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. CCCK is 3-9 overall and 2-8 in the league.

The series will be completed on Thursday with a 1 pm doubleheader start.
