SB completes sweep of Central Christian College

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Texas Wesleyan Softball team swept their second doubleheader in a row at Central Christian College, winning the series 4-0 against the Tigers on Thursday.
 
The Lady Rams won the series' third game 5-4 and the finale 13-7.

In Thursday's first game of the double header, both teams had 9 hits each, but CCCK committed 6 errors to TXWES' 2.
 
Allie Prewitt led the Lady Rams at the plate, hitting 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. She batted in the tying run in the top of the seventh on a double to left center. She would cross the plate herself as the go ahead run on a single by Brynna Foster.
 
In the bottom of the seventh, Foster held it down in the circle, allowing a leadoff hit but retired the next three for the win after 3.2 innings of work
 
The final game of the series as a slugfest as the Lady Rams manufactured 15 hits and 13 runs.
 
11 of those runs came in the first two innings.
 
Kylie Summers batted 3 for 5 with 3 RBI. She hit a triple and stole two bases. Foster also hit 3 for 5 for 3 RBI and hit two doubles.
 
Foster picked up her second win of the day pitching 3 innings allowing 3 earned runs.
 
The Lady Rams are now 7-5 overall and 5-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. CCCK is 3-11 overall and 2-10 in the league.
 
TXWES will remain on the road for their next doubleheader at SAGU on March 23.
