Baseball tops Bulldogs in slugfest

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Rams picked up a pair of wins against Jarvis Christian College, taking game one 13-3 and game two 14-6 at Sycamore Park on Tuesday afternoon.
 
TXWES let the ball fly, outhitting the Bulldogs a combined 33 to 12 between the two games. The Rams also hit 6 homers during the doubleheader, two of which came from the bat of Kevin Santiago.
 
Santiago had an excellent day at the plate as he went 5 for 7 on the day with 6 RBI. He hit a pair of triples in addition to his two home runs.
 
The Rams hit 5 homers in game one, with Marcos Sanchez, Tyriece Silas and Matt Espinosa also going deep. Brayden Bahnsen went yard in game two and hit 3 for 3 with 5 RBI in the nightcap. 
 
In the opener, Sanchez finished 2 for 3 and had a stolen base. Silas went 2 for 3 adding a triple to his line. Espinosa batted 2 for 3.
 
Starter Jaxon Ingram got his first win on the mound allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out six in six innings of work.
 
Richard Arthur came in relief to finish the seventh inning. He forced a popup then hit the next batter, but the Rams turned a 6-4-3 double play to end the game with the victory.
 
During game two, Joseph Barfield hit two doubles with Silas and Bahnsen hitting one each themselves. Greyson Barrett finished with 3 RBI alongside Bahnsen's 5 RBI.

Starter Justin Ward pitched three hitless innings and struck out four Bulldogs for his first win of the season. The Bulldogs finished the game with eight hits and 1 error.

TXWES is now 9-6 overall and Jarvis Christian College is 3-20.

The Rams will host No. 16 Oklahoma City in a three game series this weekend at Sycamore Park.
