FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan Volleyball team (11-2) rode its win streak to six with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-9) win over the University of the Southwest (3-5) at the Sid Richardson Center on Tuesday.
A much improved University of the Southwest team were met by an exceptionally efficient Lady Rams team tonight, as TXWES hit .463. The team dropped in 13 aces, its highest output since a 15 ace effort in the season opener against Arlington Baptist.
The Mustangs held their own for much of the match, but the Lady Rams committed just 10 total errors compared to USW's 39.
Bailey Foy gave an outstanding performance. The senior posted an attacking line of 11-0-15 to hit .733. She also contributed one solo block and three block assists in the win.
The attack was salty through the lineup.
Sydney Charlton added 8 kills on 12 attempts with two errors to hit .500.
Veronika Webb went 7-0-11 for .636 with a pair of block assists for the Lady Rams.
Nyia Anderson was also spotless in a 7-0-14 night to hit .500.
All of this attack was facilitated by 34 assists from
Morgan Burns, who also posted three aces.
Andrea Malek helped the cause with nine digs and three aces. Anderson added eight digs and four aces in the win.
Hannah Bokal also notched thee aces for Texas Wesleyan.
The Lady Rams will face its toughest test of the season so far when they host Wayland Baptist on Friday, March 19th starting at 7 p.m.
