Men's Soccer settle for 2-2 draw with OPSU

Bastian Blumenberg made 10 saves in goal for the Rams.

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan men's soccer team (2-8-2, 0-5-1 SAC) played to a 2-2 draw against Oklahoma Panhandle State (4-6-4, 2-2-3 SAC) at Martin Field on Friday afternoon.

The Rams opened scoring in the 35th minute when Mateja Jovanovic lit up the net with a bullet past the keeper on a penalty kick. The Rams nursed the lead to halftime.
 
Action pick up greatly in the second half, with the Aggies firing 15 shots to the Rams' 6. OPSU scored in the 69th and 86th minutes.
 
The Rams came back in with seconds remaining in the game for the equalizer to force overtime. TXWES shutout the Aggies in the first overtime period, and the two teams could accumulate three total shots in the second overtime period. The Rams and Aggies had to settle for a draw, OPSU's fourth of the season.

The Lady Rams host Central Christian on Wednesday, March 24th in the last home game of the regular season. That SAC contest set for a 7 p.m. start at Martin Field.
