FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Baseball team dominated Southwestern Assemblies of God in their home and home series opening double header on Saturday afternoon at Sycamore Park.

The Rams blistered the Lions 16-7 in game one and won the nightcap 7-6 behind Kevin Santiago's walk-off home run.

In game one, TXWES out-hit the Lions 16 to 12, and committed 1 error to SAGU's 5.

Seven Rams had a two-hit game, and there were six doubles, one triple and two homers to be had.

Greyson Barrett went 1 for 5 but did his job to lead the team with 4 RBI while crossing the plate twice himself. He also hit his 12
th homer of the year, a three-run bomb in the sixth inning.

Marcos Sanchez batted in three runs while going 2 for 3 with a double and sac fly.
Ryne Randle and
Joseph Barfield batted in two runs apiece. Randle doubled and tripled in the game. Barfield and
Jose Sosa doubled as well, and
Kaden Brown doubled twice.
Nelson Vera got the Rams started in the first inning, scoring the first run on a solo homer with two outs, his second long ball of the season.

Starter
Morgan McCloud moves to 5-0 with the win on the mound. He pitched 6.1 innings, allowed 9 hits and 4 runs while fanning six batters and walking none.
Collin Taylor faced the final six batters allowing 3 runs, hits and 2 walks.

Game two was more tightly contested, but still the Rams out did the Lions at the plate getting 9 hits to their six. This time TXWES had trouble in the field, committing five errors to SAGU's 2.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Barfield scored Randle on a sac fly. Sosa upped with advantage with a two-run shot over left field, his fourth homer of the year.

SAGU got two back on an error in the fifth, then hit a two-run homer of their own for the 4-2 edge. They added two more runs in the sixth on a same play fielder's choice and a Ram error.

Barrett wasn't through going deep though, as he came up in a big spot to hit his second blast of the day and 13
th of the year. He brought in three on a shot over the right field wall in the seventh to tie the game 6-6.

Both sides went down in order in the eighth, and TXWES prevented a score on a double and wild pitch with two outs in the top of the ninth by forcing a third out popup.

In the bottom, TXWES had one batter go down on a strikeout before Kevin Santiago came up for this fifth trip to the plate. He fouled off two pitches and faced a 1-2 count before he blasted a fifth pitch over the left field fence for the 7-6 walk-off win.

It was Santiago's third long ball this season, and he hit 3 for 4 including a double in the DH finale. Barrett finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.
Jose Sosa hit 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and a homer.Â

Jalen Evans went 5.1 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 earned run, walked 4 and struck out 5.Â
Garrett Moltzan moves to 5-2 with the win as he finished the final 3.2 innings, allowing just 1 hit, 1 run and 1 walk while fanning six.

The Rams conclude their series with SAGU on Sunday at 3 pm in Waxahachie, Texas.
