VICTORIA, Texas —The Rams combined for 22 runs and 27 hits in their doubleheader rout of University of Houston-Victoria on Friday.

The Rams won the series opener 8-6 and the nightcap 14-4.

Game one saw four scoreless frames until the Rams exploded for 6 runs on 6 hits.
Tyriece Silas brought home the first two runs on a single, and
Kaden Brown doubled in two more.

Silas came up big again with a solo homer in the sixth for the 7-0 TXWES lead.
Â
The Jaguars had a big inning of their own in the sixth inching within one run of the Rams after four hits and two TXWES errors.

In the top of nine, the Rams added insurance with a
Nelson Vera RBI double, and
Jaxon Ingram kept them honest getting his first save of the season. Starter
Marcos Sanchez improves to 2-2 with the win after 5.1 innings of work where he allowed 2 earned runs and struck out five.Â

TXWES kept the bats hot in the nightcap as they manufactured 18 hits in the 14-4 victory.

Greyson Barrett,
Brayden Bahnsen,
Nelson Vera and
Kaden Brown each had three hits, while Kevin Santiago and Tyriece added two apiece. The aforementioned Rams with multiple hits each batted in two runs.

Barrett, Brown and Bahnsen homered during the game. Silas hit a triple and Santiago a double.

The Rams will look to sweep the series in the finale starting at noon on Saturday.
