FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Wesleyan Volleyball will host Mid-America Christian for the Sooner Athletic Tournament quarterfinals at 6 pm Tuesday, April 6 in the Sid Richardson Center.
The Rams (16-3, 8-2 SAC) are the second seed in the tournament and will face the seventh seed Evangels (19-14, 5-5 SAC).
The Rams are 17-0 against MACU since their first match in 2010.
TXWES is seventh in the nation and first in the conference in hitting percentage (0.254) and has the country's best individual attacking percentage with
Bailey Foy hitting .443 this season.
MACU is seventh in the league in hitting percentage at .141 and has the SAC's kills per set leader in Hanna Foecker who averages 4.4 kills a set.
Other Ram leaders include
Morgan Burns who is second in the SAC in assists per set (9.5), and
Veronika Webb is second in blocks with 61 total this year.
The Evangels have the top two players with the most aces in the conference this season as Kaylie Walker has 54 and Foecker has 32 total aces.
The winner of the match will advance to the semi-finals to face the winner of No. 6 Panhandle State (10-6) at No. 3 Wayland Baptist (16-7).
The SAC awards two NAIA Championships berths. The NAIA Championship Opening Round occurs April 17 on campuses throughout the nation followed by the NAIA Championships on April 27-May 1 in Sioux City, Iowa.
