FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Volleyball team opened the season in front of their home crowd as they took on No. 19 Oklahoma City on Tuesday evening in the Sid Richardson Center.
The Lady Rams fell in three sets to the Stars, but kept the match close (25-23, 25-23, 25-20) despite missing five of six All-Conference returners who were out for the game.
Arianna Alvarado led all players with 15 kills, a career high for the junior from San Antonio, Texas. Returning All-Conference middle blocker
Veronika Webb notched 13 kills to start her senior season.

Ruby O'Brien tallied 21 assists in her first collegiate match, and sophomore
Emily Brooks contributed 16 assists and 2 aces.

Katelyn Mallett assisted with all 4 of the Lady Rams' blocks.
Skylar Warde, a junior transfer from Texas A&M-International, had a team best 13 digs.
Next, the Lady Rams (0-1, 0-1) will host Southwestern Christian for another Sooner Athletic Conference matchup at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1 in the Sid Richardson Center.
