TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Women's Soccer team took defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana 2-1 on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
Defending Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week senior Marlye Francis scored the first goal of the match, putting the Lady Rams up 1-0 in the 32^nd minute. 
 
It wasn't until the 76^th minute that TXWES scored again with freshman Kirkland Redic finding the back of the net on an assist by freshman Mikayla Trevino. Six seconds later, the Eagles got their first and only goal of the match making it 2-1.
 
Freshman Reese Blanton did an excellent job defending the goal as keeper as she tallied 9 saves off the Eagles' 19 total shots. 
 
The win brings the Lady Rams to 5-1-1 overall on the brink of conference play. They will host Wayland Baptist at 6 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Martin Field.
