FORT WORTH — The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball team (12-1, 6-1 SAC) defeated CCCK (1-13, 0-7) 82-46 on Monday evening at the Sid Richardson Center.
TXWES started the game off strong offensively as they tallied 21 points in the first quarter. The Lady Rams stifling defense only allowed 2 points in the first quarter.
Despite only shooting 39 percent from the field, the Lady Rams outscored CCCK 32 to 10 in the paint. TXWES continued their dominant paint presence as they out rebounded the Tigers 51 to 25. Freshman
Zarria Carter snagged 10 rebounds, junior
Makayla Coy grabbed 9 rebounds, and sophomore
Madison Horak corralled 8 rebounds.
The Lady Rams used their defensive intensity to force 20 turnovers and turned great defense into great offense as TXWES scored 20 fast-break points.
Freshman
Zarria Carter scored a game high 19 points. Junior
Makayla Coy also had 12 points. The Lady Rams had 10 different players score a point.
TXWES extends their home win streak to 10. The Lady Rams move to 7-1 all-time against the Tigers. The Lady Rams travel to Goodwell, OK on Thursday Jan. 6 to take on OPSU at 6 p.m.
