For the second time this season, the Rams swept the Southwestern Christian University behind the hitting of Kendal King and Sydney Charlton. This time the Rams won at home 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 to keep their overall record against the Eagles spotless at 21-0.

The win improves the Rams' record to 22-3 overall and 17-1 in conference. The Eagles fall to 9-17 overall and 4-14 in conference play.

The Rams dominated the game with 50 kills to Southwestern Christian's 26 and nine blocks to SCU's five. Kendal King led the Rams' balanced attack with 11 kills, while Sydney Charlton had 10. Grace Pavelka led all players with seven blocks, a season-high, Andrea Malek led the Ram defense with 26 digs, while Skylar Warde had 11 digs. Ruby O'Brien and Catherine Wise provided the Rams with 23 and 21 assists, respectively.

In the first set, the Rams got off to a slow start as the Eagles kept the game tight. It wasn't until a side out at 16-10 when Texas Wesleyan scored six unanswered point behind the attacks of Charlton and Sydney Alexander. From there, the Rams had control of the game, only allowing three more Eagle points to give Texas Wesleyan the 25-13 win.

The second set had the Rams jump out to a 13-4 lead before Southwestern Christian was blue to score more than one point at a time. At 15-8, the momentum changed, and the Eagles were able to bring to the score to 15-13 before the Rams scored again. From then on, the Eagles worked to take the lead and brought the game within one point on four occasions, including set point, but a Lauran Richards kill brought the Rams the tight 25-23 win.

In the third set, Southwestern Christian took its only lead of the match at 6-5. From there, the Rams never let the Eagles take the lead again, although they came within one point three times, Texas Wesleyan's strong front line kept the Eagles guessing as the Rams got six kills from six different players, King, Pavelka, Alexander, Carly Unruh and Charlton, during the last few volleys in the game. The Rams took the win 25-17, sweeping Southwestern Christian in the match.

Texas Wesleyan hosts Oklahoma City University on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. for their final home game. The Rams still sit in second place in SAC behind Southwestern Assemblies of God University, who are undefeated this season. The Rams were ranked #24 in the latest NAIA national poll.
