FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan softball team (3-3) defeated #7 Ottawa (4-3-1) in both games of a double-header on Friday afternoon at Sycamore Park. The Lady Rams won 3-2 in game 1 and 4-2 in game 2.
In game 1, TXWES totaled 5 hits, 3 runs, and 3 RBI's. Junior
Taylor Tubbs pitched all 9 innings of a game that needed two extra innings to decide a winner. Tubbs allowed 2 runs, 5 hits and recorded 6 strikeouts in 32 batters faced. Tubbs improves to 2-1 on the season. Senior
Kylie Summers recorded 2 hits and 1 RBI in three at-bats. After 7 innings of play the game was still scoreless.
The Braves scored two runs in the top half of the eighth inning. TXWES answered in the bottom half of the eighth inning with two runs to tie the game at 2 heading into the ninth inning. Freshman

Devin Dunn to propel the Lady Rams to a 3-2 victory in extra innings.
In game 2, TXWES totaled 5 hits, 4 RBI's, and 4 runs. Junior
Dylann Kaderka picked up her first win on the mound as she pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits in 28 batters faced. Sophomore
Brynna Foster blasted a home-run to left field in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1.
Heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Rams trailed 2-1. Senior Sandy Lopez stepped up in the bottom of the sixth inning with a base clearing double to right center-field to give the Lady Rams a 4-2 lead. This hit ended up being the difference in the game 2 as TXWES completed a two-game sweep of #7 Ottawa.
The Lady Rams move to 3-4 all-time against Ottawa University. TXWES will host an SAC double-header against Southwestern Christian University on Tuesday Feb. 22 at 1 and 3 p.m. at Sycamore Park.
