OKLAHOMA CITY-- The Texas Wesleyan softball team (12-6, 6-2 SAC) dropped both games of a DH against #2 Oklahoma City University (20-1, 6-1) on Saturday afternoon at Ann Lacy Stadium. The Lady Rams lost game 1 7-3 and game 2 4-2.
In game 1, the Lady Rams started the game off on a positive note with a double to left center field by

Devin Dunn and
Rhea-Ann Avalos. After one inning of play, TXWES led 2-0.
After a solid offensive performance in the opening inning, the Lady Rams were held scoreless for the next five innings of play. Heading into the top of the seventh inning, #2 OCU led 7-2. In the top of the seventh inning
Izzy Valenzuela blasted a home-run over the left field wall to make the score 7-3. OCU held off a late rally by TXWES to win 7-3.
In game 2, the Lady Rams used tough defense and solid pitching to keep it in the game until the very end.
Taylor Tubbs pitched six innings, giving up 3 earned runs and 8 hits in 28 batters faced. OCU scored a run in the first and fourth innings to give the Stars a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Rams knotted the game at 2 in the sixth inning after a two run home-run by
Rhea-Ann Avalos. In the bottom of the sixth inning OCU responded with two runs of its own to take a 4-2 lead heading into the seventh and final inning. The Lady Rams comeback attempt fell short as
Ajah Jackson grounded out to end the game.
Rhea-Ann Avalos went 2 for 3 with two RBI's in game 2.
Hailey Hernandez also recorded two hits in three at-bats in game 2.
TXWES will face Langston University on Sunday, March. 20 in a DH 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
