WAXAHACHIE-- The Texas Wesleyan softball team (15-7, 9-3 SAC) split games in a DH against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (17-9, 7-5) on Tuesday afternoon. TXWES lost game one 1-0 and won game two 6-1.
In game 1,
Taylor Tubbs pitched phenomenal, giving up one earned run and striking out five batters in 25 batters faced and giving up 4 hits. Through four innings of play neither team was able to score a run. Heading into the fifth inning the game was tied at 0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning SAGU scored the only run of the game on a double to score Bradley. The Lady Rams had one last chance in the top of the seventh inning to knot the game up or take the lead. TXWES continued to battle back as they loaded the bases but ended the game on a strikeout to fall 1-0.Â
The Lady Rams recorded four hits in 26 at-bats.

Devin Dunn,
Rhea-Ann Avalos, and
Izzy Valenzuela all recorded one hit.Â
In game 2, TXWES bounced back with stellar pitching and electric bats. The Lady Rams scored two runs in the top of the second inning on a single by
Hailey Hernandez  and a walk by
Mercedes Beltran to make the score 2-0.Â
A three-run seventh inning for TXWES extended the lead to 6-0. The inning was capped off by an
Izzy Valenzuela single.
Dylann Kaderka moves to 8-4 on the season after pitching 7 innings, giving up 1 run, six hits, and recording six strikeouts. TXWES held on to defeat SAGU 6-1.Â
The Lady Rams will face USAO in a SAC DH on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
