PLAINVIEW, TX-- The Texas Wesleyan baseball team (19-12, 6-5 SAC) defeated Wayland Baptist (16-12, 1-7) in both games of a DH on Friday afternoon. TXWES won game one 9-5 and game two 8-7.
WBU took a 4-0 lead heading into the fourth inning. The Rams exploded offensively in the top of the fourth inning with six runs.

Marcos Sanchez on a groundout. Kevin Santiago capped off the six run inning with a three-run blast to left center to give TXWES a 6-4 lead.
The Rams put the game away with a two-run seventh inning to extend the lead to 9-5.
David Theriot picks up the win after pitching three innings, giving up one run, and striking out one batter in 11 batters faced. The Rams bats powered them to a 9-5 victory in game 1.
In game 2, TXWES overcame a five-run deficit to top the Pioneers. The Rams trailed by four runs in game one and five runs in game two, but overcame adversity to secure two wins. After a six run inning, the Pioneers carried a 6-1 lead heading into the third inning. TXWES scored two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth inning to tie the game.

Stephen Roberts picks up his first win of the season, recording four strikeouts and giving up no runs twelve batters faced.
Morgan McCloud picks up his first save of the year after pitching one inning and giving up no runs.
Carson Cheaney recorded two hits and one RBI in four at-bats.
TXWES will close the series with Wayland Baptist tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m.
