FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan Softball team (19-13) dominated Arlington Baptist University (6-15) in a DH on Monday afternoon at Sycamore Park. The Lady Rams won game one 8-0 and were victorious in game two with a 5-1 win.
In game one, TXWES used a dominant performance from
Dylann Kaderka on the mound to complete an 8-0 shut out over Arlington Baptist University. In the first inning,
Devin Dunn hit a single to score
Kylie Summers to make the score 1-0. To extend the Lady Rams lead to 2-0 in the second inning, Kylie summers picked up an RBI single.
A three run fourth inning started with an RBI single by
Brynna Foster, followed by an RBI ground out by
Rhea-Ann Avalos, and then was capped off by a
Jaeley May RBI double to make the score 5-0. In the fifth inning, TXWES scored its final three runs of the game in the fifth inning to secure an 8-0 victory.
Dylann Kaderka picked up her tenth win of the season, pitching five innings, striking out three batters, and allowing four hits and no earned runs.
Kylie Summers recorded four hits and one RBI in four at-bats.
Devin Dunn tallied three hits and three RBI's in four at-bats.
Mercedes Beltran went two for two on the day with a walk and scored three runs.
In game two,
Taylor Tubbs pitched seven innings, striking out seven batters and allowing one hit and one run.
Brynna Foster slashed a double down the line to score
Devin Dunn and
Kylie Summers to make the score 2-0. In the second inning, Sandy Lopez smashed a homerun to extend the lead to 3-0.
Brynna Foster cranked a solo shot to left center to extend the lead to 4-0. In the fifth inning,
Rhea-Ann Avalos hit her ninth homerun of the season to extend the lead to 5-0. The Patriots scored one run in the top half of the seventh inning. TXWES was able to hold ABU scoreless for the rest of the game to secure a 5-1 victory.
Sandy Lopez went two for two with an RBI.
Brynna Foster recorded two hits and three RBI's in three at-bats. The Lady Rams will face Dallas Christian College in a DH on Saturday, April 16 at 1 and 3 p.m.
